How would a falling leaf look like in mid air. I mean a free falling leaf under the influence of gravity ? This photo tries to answer that question.
Photo setup
- A green leaf would fall down very fast like a stone and I would not get that floating effect. For this I had to pick a dry leaf from my garden. A dry leaf would sail through the wind and land gracefully on the floor. Once I got the suitable leaf, I had to find a suitable location where the sun’s light would cast a shadow directly on the wall. I had also thought about the scenario where there would be no shadow but the leaf fall should be perfect so as to make the shape beautiful
- I chose to go with the shadow of the leaf
- The shutter speed had to be up all the way to 1/1000, because we were capturing something in motion
- Tripod was used to avoid any kind of shake
