Prologue
when I was googling for macro photo ideas, I stumbled across this arrangement of color pencils and I was inspired. I had shot a macro of two pencils and had posted in Facebook which many had liked and when Lakshmy suggested that I use all the 7 colors in the photo and that it will add to the effect, I decided to go for another shoot which involves all the color pencils that I had
Lighting
- After flax seeds photo shoot, i realized two things the light from the CFL without proper diffusion ( using reflector or umbrella ) was causing lot of highlight ( shining effect ) and could not be removed in post processing
- Due to single point lighting, long shadows were being cast which was causing issues in post processing
So this time around, i am using an umbrella and two point lighting. One from side and another from top. The side lighting ( more powerful ) will give the required shadows to give depth but the top light ( less powerful ) will ensure that
the shadows are not harsh
Camera setup
To cover a lot of area in a shot amount of space, I used the 35 mm 1.8 G lens
