It was an important day in my life and after seeing the little angel’s photos that Sonia had sent, I was really excited to see him and hold him in my hands. It was my first trip in sleeper and I was not very familiar with the city of Ernakulam, so I knew there was lot of excitement and adventure waiting for me.
House to Madiwala in auto : Rs 105. Travel time ( with no traffic, thanks to Gandhi Jayanthi) Started at 7:35, reached the bus stand around 8:20 PM
Bus 3197, came at 9:00 PM – Sleeper coach with very comfortable and clean cabin with individual curtain. Adjustable ac at both sides. Length of the bed was 5’ 10”. The journey was very pleasant with hardly any shakes. As always the travel between Palakkad and trichur was slightly unpleasant.
Reached Mannuthy ( Trichur ) at 5:00 AM. There were atleast 7 – 10 people who alighted the bus. I got down at Vytilla at 6:25 AM, in the main road itself ( Other stops were Aluva and Edapally)
NOTE: The same bus starts from Indiranagar, BDA Complex at 7:15 PM
Once I got down, I walked backwards, and got inside the Vytilla bus stand. I had to look for buses which goes to Piravam through Mulanthuruthy, so that I can get down at the A P Varky hospital
The buses don’t get inside and boards won’t have anything related to Piravam, so you have to keep asking the conductors. It took about 45 minutes to reach the hospital. Bus stop is right in front of the hospital.
On my way back, shibu dropped me till the bus stop and from there it was just 10 rupees to the Vytilla bus terminal.
On my way back, I went to the place where there are government buses ( at the beginning of the terminal) and boarded a super fast. Since it was a saturday, it apparently stopped at multiple stops. Ticket charge was 68 Rs. I got down at the Trichur government bus stand, which is very close to the railway station. Took an auto to home, which cost Rs 52.
Next time, for the return ticket, I could think about opting for the Rajahamsa which starts from Trichur
